I want to wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas. May your Christmas and New Year be filled with love, joy, peace and hope.
If for any reason this year, your holiday season is especially challenging, may the God of all comfort pour out his grace to you.
Two days ago I suddenly felt I had the Christmas spirit. For me that meant sitting by the fire on a cold Baja day, a nice cup of British tea, a good book, the smell of Barb cooking up something scrumptious (I think it smelled like dark chocolate), and two days to clean our house and wrap my presents, getting ready for family to come on Christmas eve. In one word — JOY.
I love the Christmas season. This year I was able to share the real reason for Christmas and the good news of the glorious gospel on two outreaches Siloe Clinic did in two of our migrant worker communities. It is such a privilege to be able to give to those near us who have so little. That is one of the great benefits of living here in Mexico. There are so many who have so little. A little generosity goes a long way and they are so appreciative. It truly is more blessed to give than receive.
For Barb and me, we want to pray for you the gracious prayer God told Aaron to pray for the children of Israel:
24 “The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
